Janet Arlene Bowman

September 30, 1934 — September 23, 2013

And so, the gray clouds parted and God smiled upon her and her soul was taken to Heaven on a sun beam. Janet A. Bowman passed away September 23, 2013 at St. Luke's Magic Valley after a short illness, surrounded by her family. Janet was born September 30, 1934, the second child to Vena Hutchins and Leroy Huffman in Nez Perce, Idaho. Throughout her childhood the family moved many different places. Eventually they ended up in El Monte, California and graduated from El Monte High School in 1952. After graduation she made her way back to Idaho where she met the love of her life, Donald Dewayne Bowman. They were married April 23, 1954 in Kimberly, Idaho. Three years later they welcomed a daughter named Laura Christine. In three more years they were blessed with a son, Darrell Lee. Although she worked for several years as a secretary in Doctors' offices, she enjoyed most of all being a full-time mother and supporting her children in all their activities including school projects and little league. Year later, she welcomed her only grandchild Anna Marie. In her later years, Janet enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, gardening and working in her flower beds. She also enjoyed walking with her friends in the morning and taking scenic drives with Don. She is survived by her husband Donald, daughter Laura & Roger Perkins, son Darrell & Sherri Bowman and granddaughter Anna & Donn Fraser. There will be an open house at the Bowman Residence on Saturday September 28, 2013 from 2-5pm. Family and Friends are welcome to come and share memories and pay their respects. We love you Janet and will miss your smile!
