She was a great cook and made absolutely the best homemade bread and made sure everyone was well fed. She was known by all her children's friends as "Ma Bowyer". Deon dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would love to make them birthday cakes and stuff a sock for each one at Christmas. She always said "lf I would have known grandchildren were so much fun, I would have had them first". Deon loved the holidays, especially Christmas and the 4th of July. During Christmas, she would bake, decorate, and listen to Christmas music. She collected Nativity Scenes and proudly displayed them during the Christmas Season. On the 4th of July, the house would be decorated in red, white, and blue and Uncle Sam's.
