Betty Ruth Thompson 1930 - 2013 Twin Falls. Betty Ruth Thompson, 83, born May 18, 1930, passed away at the River Ridge Nursing Home, with her family by her side on September 2, 2O13. Mom was one of four children; Bertha, Katherine and Tom, who like all siblings, liked to compete with each other on who got to ride with Uncle Dean on the horse wagon and who had to ride in the back of the wagon going to school. Mom would tell stories about ice skating on the pond and how she always had to do her sister's chores, because they were always sick. Mom loved to complain, but then would get on the phone and call one of her sisters, usually Katherine, just to chat. While working hard all her life, Betty held jobs with the US Government cleaning offices, The Holiday Inn as a maid, Fred Myers as a night janitor, Universal Frozen Foods as a line picker and in packaging, and her earlier jobs with Mtn. View as a housekeeper, Woodstone as a night housekeeper and the Rainbow Bar and Eddy's Bar as bartender, she raised her children, Betty Jean Cram (Christianson), Flora May Gidney ( Shimizu), Bill Gidney, and Christina Cazier, then later raised her oldest grandson, Timothy Adams Cazier (Thompson) whom she also later adopted. Mom enjoyed her roses, her needle point and dogs that she raised. She especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren's visits, but loved it even more when she was able to turn them back over to their parents. Mom also like the Lawrence Welk Show, because she liked to watch them dance, but when she turned on her opera music, the family would run and hide. This always made mom laugh saying she had to put up with our music too. Mom is survived by her sister, Bertha from Oregon, daughter Flora May Shimizu of Jerome, ldaho, Bill Gidney (Lori) of Twin Falls, ldaho, And Timothy Thompson (Candy) of Buhl, ldaho, her grandchildren Erin Pruett, Amanda Perry (Mike), Sarah Pruett (Alex), and her great grandchildren, Michael, Kara Anne, Tryston, Liam, Emma, Kaleb, and Addison.
