Janet L. Jones 1932 ~ 2013 Janet Jones, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, age 81, of Twin Falls left her earthly home in Twin Falls, Idaho, on August 16, 2013, to take up residence in the mansion prepared for her by Jesus, whom she had trusted as her Lord and Savior as the only way of eternal salvation. Janet was born on March 31, 1932, in Monterey Park, California to Austin and Elizabeth Lane, where she joined her older brother William (Bill). From there the family moved first to Georgia, then Weiser, Idaho, and eventually settled in Eugene, Oregon. Janet graduated from Eugene High School in 1950. She married her high school sweetheart, Morris W. Jones, on November 22, 1950, in Eugene. She was mother to Debbie, who died in infancy, Steven, and, later in life, Vicky. Janet and Morris lived in Oregon and California during the early years of their married life, and in 1963 moved to Boise, Idaho, where they resided for nearly 20 years. During those years she was active in Baptist churches, where she especially enjoyed serving her Lord by singing in the choir. She also worked several years for the State of Idaho. Janet was a gracious lady who was devoted to her family (including an assortment of dogs) and enjoyed reading, singing, camping, and cooking. She delighted in entertaining guests, spending hours preparing meals to delight the eye as well as the taste buds. One of her greatest pleasures was to go camping in the mountains. When her husband retired, they spent nearly 15 years of RV living, spending time in Death Valley, CA, Sunbeam, ID, and finally Quartzsite, AZ. When her health began to fail, they moved to Twin Falls to be near their son and his family. Surviving Janet is her husband Morris Jones and son Steven (Julie) Jones, all of Twin Falls, daughter Vicky Rich of Simi Valley, CA; five grandchildren: Matthew, Amy, KC, Kenny, and Shaun; and nine great-grandchildren: Kristopher, Connor, Jaiden, Katie, Jesse, Alycea, Brandon, Cody, and William. She was preceded in death by her parents, her infant daughter Debbie, and her brother Bill Lane. A Celebration of Janet's life will be held Friday, August 23, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, Idaho. The family would like to thank St. Luke's Home Health and Hospice for their care for Janet during some of her most difficult days.
