Walter Casper Schroeder

Walter "Walt" Casper Schroeder, 85, of Twin Falls joined hands with his son as he met our heavenly father on Thursday August 15, 2013. Walt was born on October 13, 1927, to Hugo and Edna Schroeder, in Lewellen, Nebraska. After moving around to various western states he finally landed in Twin Falls Idado where he bagan to build his life in 1948. He began doing small engine repair and continued his career and love for music. In 1956 Walt married Bette and began a family helping her to raise his stepchildren Charles, Linda, Tom, Mike, Diane, and Kathy. Together they also had three beautiful children William, Karen, and Robert. Bette passed away in 1967. In 1969 Walt married Flora whom also had three children Randy, Roger, Lynn that Walt adored. In 1970 he started attending college where he received his degree in accounting. Shortly after he moved to Walla Walla, Washington where he worked as an accountant for the Washington State Penitentiary. Sometime in the mid eighties he retired and he and Flora came back to Twin Falls where he cared for her until she passed in 1995. In 2009 he married his sweetheart Merle and fell in love with her children Chuck, Lola, Brenda, and David. Walt adored Merle she was the light of his eye until his passing. Some of Walts passions in life include watching old westerns and playing his guitar. He played at various places and spent time teaching his grandson and some of his great-grandchildren to play as well. Walt loved his family and believed it was the most important thing in life. He had a sense of humor and smile that would brighten anyones day. Walt also had an everlasting love for the lord. Walt was preceded in death by his parents, his wives Bette and Flora, his two sisters Iva and Judy, his son Robert, his stepson Charles, grandson Kristopher, and son in law Matt. He is survived by his wife Merle of Twin Falls, brother Myron of Twin Falls, son Bill of Twin Falls, daughter Karen of Boise, eight grand children and fourteen and a half great grandchildren. A service is being held at 1 pm on Tuesday, August 20th at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home at 2551 Kimberly Rd in Twin Falls.
