MATILDE HERNANDEZ

Matilde Hernandez Matilde Hernandez, 66 of Meridian Idaho passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013 at St. Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls Idaho surrounded by her loving family. Matilde was born January 27, 1946 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico the daughter of Ignacio Martinez and Casimira Gomez. She met and married the love of her life, Servando Hernandez in March 1964, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico. They lived between Eagle Pass and Annona, Texas until they moved to Idaho in 1980. She has remained here until present day. Matilde loved family. She loved cooking, fishing, needlework, gardening, and walking. Her children and her grandchildren were her life. She was a very loving caring and giving person, and any person that came in contact with her was better for having known her. She enjoyed life. She had a big heart and shared it with everyone. Her children would say she was the best mom in the whole world. She was very selfless always making sure the others around her were taken care of. She was strong and she fought bravely for many years against her illness but it finally took her from us and she has gone to join her beloved Servando. Matilde was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Guadalupe Martinez and her husband, Servando Hernandez. Survivors include her children, Mike Hernandez, Servando, Jr. (Sabrina) Hernandez, Julian"Bo" Hernandez, Steve (Felicitas) Hernandez, Shaun Hernandez, Otila (Ben) Osterhout, Anita (Richard) Silvaz, Maribel (Jimmy) Thanadabouth and Blanca (Freddy) Vega. Also surviving are 30+ grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, brothers, Guadalupe (Socorro) Martinez, Perfecto (Licha) Martinez, Ignacio (Maria) Martinez, and sisters, Cleofas Martinez, Juana (Alberto)Delgadillo and Amparo (Luciano) Alonzo. Visitation for Matilde will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2013 from 5 to 7 PM at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Rd., Twin Falls, ID, Vigil Services will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 11 AM at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home with Father Adrian Vazquez officiating.Interment will take place following services at the Twin Falls Cemetery Twin Falls Idaho.
