Maurine L. Reinke, age 93, of Buhl, died Friday, June 7, 2013, at Chardonnay Assisted Living in Twin Falls, Idaho. Maurine was born March 3, 1920, the daughter of Herman O. and Louise W. Schroeder. Maurine was born on the Clover track one mile north of the Reinke farm that would later become her home for 61 years. At the age of 2, her mother died following surgery; her father later remarried. As a young adult, Maurine lived in Buhl and worked at Paps Ice Cream shop and the Buhl Pharmacy behind the ice cream counters where she is said to have made malted milk shakes that were irresistible to her suitor. On Jan. 26, 1947, Maurine married Orval Ernest Reinke. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Kenneth, Sheryl, Lucinda and Voyne. Maurine's life centered around her family, church and farm activities. She was a terrific cook with pies as her specialty. Maurine loved tending her chickens and working in her garden. She especially loved roses and knew all of them - 50-plus - by name. She lived her Christian beliefs as a faithful steward of God's gifts. She was a member of Clover Trinity Lutheran Church. For over 60 years, she was the church's Cradle Roll secretary. She drove school bus for the Clover Trinity Lutheran School and was an active member of the LWML. Maurine is survived by her children, Kenneth (Yvonne) Reinke of Twin Falls, Sheryl Washburn of Newport, Vermont, Lucinda (Charles Green) Reinke of Boise and Voyne Reinke of Clover; she is also survived by four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Maurine was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; step-mother, Lena; her sister, Leona; brothers Robert and Arnold; step-sister, Velma; daughter-in-law, Michelle; son-in-law, John; and grandson, David.
