PARKE'S MAGIC VALLEY FUNERAL HOME 2551 KIMBERLY ROAD TWIN FALLS, ID 83301 USA (208) 735-0011 Fax: (208) 735-0010 LEO PATRICK GALLAGHER 1923 ~2013 Leo Patrick Gallagher, age 90 of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away April 4, 2013 at Twin Falls Care Center in Twin Falls, Idaho. Leo was born February 23, 1923 in Birdsview, WA to William E. Gallagher & Delevina Guerro Gallagher. He grew up and attended schools, graduating from high school in San Diego, CA. He enlisted in the US Navy and served in the Asiatic Theatre and the Philippines. Upon being honorably discharged in December, 1945, he went into the grocery business and managed grocery stores for various chains over the next 30+ years. He began with Piggly Wiggly, went onto Safeways, and Mayfair Markets, where he retired. Leo was done with the grocery business, but he wasn't ready to retire and spent the next 25 years of his life in gardening and landscaping. On May 30, 1971, Leo married the love of his life, Gladys Reese Gallagher. They made their home in San Diego, and after Leo retired the 2nd time in 1994, they moved to Twin Falls, Idaho. Leo always enjoyed landscaping and gardening especially tending roses, so when they came to Idaho he returned to work as a gardener/landscaper and then later he took a job with Magic Valley Regional Medical Center as a Bio-Hazard engineer and worked in Environmental Services. He loved the uniform that they gave him to work in. When Leo wasn't hard at work, he loved to watch "The Lawrence Welk Show", old western shoot-em ups' with John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart. His favorite all~time movie was, "Pillow Talk" with Doris Day and Rock Hudson. He also loved to read, laugh and tell naughty jokes, go to the Mall and people watch, having breakfast at Perkins restaurant and being waited on by all the pretty girls. When life got dull, he would amuse the family by taking his teeth out and making faces. He was devoted to Gladys and every day, twice a day he would take her a "Sonic" as he called it. Leo was a very special man who loved his wife, took care of everyone that was ever in his care, loved his grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving Leo is his loving wife of 41 years, Gladys of Twin Falls, ID; daughters, Pam (Jay) Caddell of San Diego, CA; Carlene of Las Vegas, NV; Donna of San Bernardino, CA; sons, John Gallagher of Iowa; Raymond Gallagher of San Francisco, CA; brother, Robert Gallagher of CA and one granddaughter.
