Darlene Shirley Root

Darlene Shirley Root, 76, of Twin Falls, passed away March 18, 2013 at her home. She was born April 18, 1936 in Richfield, Idaho the daughter of Earl and Mayme Sopher Root. Darlene graduated as Salutatorian for the Dietrich High School. She married John Otis Root and together they had three wonderful children. They later divorced. Darlene loved watching the birds and squirrels in her yard, and caring for her pet turtle. Surviving are her children - Barbara Marie (Jim) Gottsch of Winnemucca, NV, John Earl (Tawna) Root of Filer, ID, Steven Vern (Michelle) Root of Twin Falls, grandchildren - Casandra (Cody) Martin of Oceanside, CA, Trevor Root of Phoenix, AZ, Ashley Root of Nampa, Cody Root and Connor Root of Twin Falls, along with great granddaughter - Cadence Marie Martin of Oceanside, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Earl Davis. Darlene will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. At her request private family services were held. Arrangements were under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls.
