Leona Simpson Brandon 1931 ~ 2013 Leona Simpson Brandon passed away at St Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls on February 25, 2013. She was born in Broadview, New Mexico to Roy and Laura Fryer Simpson on September 25, 1931. Leona spent her early years in New Mexico around the Clovis area and then in 1946, moved with her family to Idaho. She attended and graduated from Castleford High School in 1949. Leona met Roy Brandon in 1947 in Castleford. They married on July 7, 1951 (his birthday) in the First Baptist Church in Twin Falls and celebrated 61 years of marriage on July 7, 2012. They remain members of the First Baptist Church to this day. Leona was a homebody. Her home was her sanctuary and she was Molly Homemaker She cooked and canned and loved to sew. She was happiest in the kitchen, cooking for her family. She liked to read and was an expert at decorating Wedding Cakes. Surviving Leona is her daughter Laura Dille of Pocatello and son Lynn (Nan)Brandon of Las Vegas, NV; She also leaves behind her brother-in-law, Keith (Betty) of Spokane WA., sister-in-laws, Evelyn Simpson of Utah, and Jean Simpson of Boise, Idaho; Granddaughter, Verena (Skylar) Simmons of Pocatello, step-granddaughters, Stacy of Las Vegas and Christine of Stites, ID; step-grandsons Kevin (Sarah) of Colorado Springs, CO and Karl of Clarkston, WA; 2 great-grandsons and 3 step-great grandchildren. Also surviving are her numerous nieces and nephews. Joining her children in celebrating Leona's life is her closest lifelong friend, Barbara Holloway and Barbara's extensive and loving family. Leona is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Evalena Welch, brothers, Lee Simpson, William Simpson, Melvin Simpson, Marvin Simpson, an infant brother and two nephews, Greg and Marvin Simpson. Visitation for Leona will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, ID. Funeral Services for Leona will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Cooper officiating. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Twin Falls, Idaho.
