Orville William Langford died peacefully at his home in Twin Falls on Saturday, February 9, 2013. Orville was born on November 6, 1925 to Alvena Hildebrand and Garfield Langford at the family home in Kansas City, Kansas. He grew up and attended school in Kansas City, graduating from Wyandotte High School after having served in the U. S. Navy. In 1944, he was baptized into Christ at the Old Waverly Ave. Church of Christ in K.C., Kansas. The church was built on land donated by his father, Garfield. On July 28, 1946, he married Geraldene (Gerry) Shannon Langford in Kansas City, Kansas. They had two sons, Larry William and Lyn Wayne. They moved to Englewood, Colorado in 1953 where Orville worked as an Insurance Accountant and Auditor. Orville worked tirelessly for the Lord to help grow the Church of Christ in Englewood. The family moved to Missouri in 1970 where Orville finished his career as office manager for Acro Trailer. Orville and Gerry were active members of the North National Church of Christ in Springfield, Missouri. Loving his family and his home, he was extremely generous with both, caring for several needy boys in their home from 1950-1975. One of these, Carl David Clift, has always been considered a son to the family. Orville is survived by his son, Lyn W. Langford of Twin Falls, Idaho, his foster son, Carl David Clift of Springfield, Missouri; his grandsons, Jason Lyn Langford, Adam William Langford, Mark Russell Langford, a granddaughter Casey McGhee; and three great grandsons, Dalton Lane Trantham, Devon James Albrecht, and William Joe Calvard. Preceding him in his death were his brother, Omar Leonard Langford, both parents, his sister, Martha Langford Randall, two nephews, Dick and Bud Langford. Also passing before him was his loving wife, Geraldene, and his son Larry William Langford. A memorial service honoring Orville will be held at the Magic Valley Church of Christ in Twin Falls, Idaho on February 23, 2013 at 1 p.m. Orville's ashes will be buried later this summer at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Springfield, Missouri.
