Peggy Sue Perkins 1937~2013 Peggy Sue Perkins, 75 of Filer, Idaho and formerly of Challis,Idaho passed away January 4, 2013 at St. Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls, Idaho. Peggy was born December 18, 1937 in Oklahoma, the daughter of Owen and Ethel (Hopper) Dunham. She grew up with her 12 siblings in California and graduated from Vacaville High School in 1955. On February 17, 1956, she married the one and only love of her life, Cecil Perkins and to this union were born three children, Jeffrey Dee, Gary Lee and Alicia Marie. The family moved to Challis, Idaho in 1963 and raised the children on ranches in the Pahsimeroi Valley. They remained in Challis until 1985 when they moved to Filer, Idaho where she spent her time driving pilot cars and flagging on road construction jobs. Peggy spent many years being known as "The Avon Lady" and was one of the top "10" in the Nation. Eventually the love of baking and doing weddings brought her to the profession of managing bakeries in Challis and Twin Falls. Surviving Peggy is her husband of almost 57 years, Cecil Perkins of Filer, ID; Sons, Jeffrey Dee Perkins of Buhl, ID and Gary Lee (Janette) Perkins of Payette, ID; daughter, Alicia Marie (Rob) Benson of Challis, ID; 8 grandchildren, Bobbi Jo Perkins, Amanda Lea Perkins, Jacob Tyrel Perkins and Jason Thomas Perkins, Shasta Lynn Stone, Shanna Rae Lammers, Stacey Fae Stranger and Zachary Lamont Benson; 13 great grandchildren, Austin, Wyatt, & Chance Backen; Tucker & Taylor Smith; Tanner, Charlie & Kolton, Stone; Olivia, Jocilyn & Traeger Lammers; Stetson Benson and Callen Stranger. Also surviving are her brothers Tom (Garland) Dunham, and Rusty Dunham and sisters Wanda (Herman) Marfil and Janet (Howard) Zimmerman. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Memorial Services for Peggy will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls. Those wishing to share condolences may do so at www.magicvalleyfuneralhome.com. In lieu of (fresh) flowers the family would rather have a keepsake.
