Ronald Eugene Stokesberry

April 28, 1948 — December 30, 2012

Ronald Eugene Stokesberry, 64, of Filer, was called home Dec. 30, 2012 where he can watch over his family and friends. He was born to Leo and Mildred Stokesberry April 28, 1948 and grew up southwest of Filer. He attended school in Filer until his senior year, where he graduated from Buhl. He continued his education at Northwest Nazarene College. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. He married Sandra Jean Abel on June 16, 1967 and into this union were born two daughters, Kim and Krista. Throughout his life, he worked for Leo's Custom Farming, Filer Super Service, the Sugar Factory and owned both R&S Excavating and WAMMCO. He served on the Filer City Council and Filer Volunteer Fire Dept. In 1992, he married Mary Ann Hagen. In 1999, he closed his business and took on the adventure of retirement. Ron loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, boating, riding horses, camping, gold mining, and telling stories at the local coffee shops. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by Sharon Duncan (sister), Mike Stokesberry (brother) and Jenny Anderson(step-daughter). He is survived by Mary Ann Stokesberry (wife), Mildred Stokesberry (mother), Leo Stokesberry (father), daughters, Kim (Lonnie) Brutke and Krista (Casey) Reddick, step daughter, Barbara (James)LaMere, step son, Michael J. Burgoyne, grandchildren; Kyle, Tyler and Kelsie Brutke, Kayden and Kyla Reddick, Syndey LaMere, Mikayla and Rylar Burgoyne and many close friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Ficklin and nurse Jayne, as well as the St. Luke's Hospital staff and Hospice Visions for the care and attention given to Ron. Graveside services will be held Monday, January 7 at 1:00pm at the Filer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Filer Fire Dept.
