Donald L. Rosen 81 of Hagerman, died peacefully at his home November 16th after a long battle with COPD. Don was born October 9th 1931 in Twin Falls Idaho to Esther and Smith (Smoke) Rosen. As a young child Don contacted Osteomyelitis which resulted in numerous operations and prevented him from joining the Navy with his two brothers. As a young man Don went to California and started a trade in the saw mill industry only to find out he was allergic to fir. He returned to Idaho where he worked for Independent meat and later United Oil Company. He met and married Irene Stanger in 1955 from this union three sons were born. Durk, Tim and Scott. In 1962, he established Rosen's floor covering service and built a reputation for fine quality and honest work. When he was not flooring someone he was very active in remodeling homes in the Twin Falls, Jerome area. Don had that special touch of turning a disaster into a beautiful home. In 1983 Don left Idaho and went to Nome Alaska, where he managed to continue his trade when he wasn't fishing or hunting, and that was when it was dark all day and 63 below. From Nome Don went to Colorado where he married Charlotte Bell in 1990 from this union he acquired two Step daughters and son-in-laws. Don and Charlotte moved to Montana where they established Montana Goat Rescue and Don built his finial new home, however the three car garage and work shop came first. At one point he had 87 goats and had named every one of them. After a short stay in very HOT Arizona Don asked Charlotte if she every thought of living in Hagerman two which she replayed "give me three hours and we are out of here." He is survived by his wife Charlotte Rosen, son's Durk and Tim Rosen, Step daughters Laura Hill (Bart) and Linda Armstrong (Marty).He was preceded in death by his son Scott, his mother and father his brothers Bruce and Gene Rosen, numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins. A Service of Remembrance will be held Saturday December 1, at 10 a.m. at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home in Twin Falls. The family request that in lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Hagerman Public Library P.O. Box 330. The funds will be used to purchase books in remembrance of Don.
