Gene Howard Bishop

Gene H. Bishop 11/5/1939-10/24/2012 Gene was born on November 5, 1939 in Greeley, Colorado to Archibald and Molly Bishop. He was the youngest of 12 children. He passed away October 24, 2012 at Oak Creek Care Center in Kimberly, Id. On August 1, 1959 he married his life long friend, Virginia Daum, which they were later divorced but remained everlasting friends. To their union three children were born- Robert, Tamra, and Jennifer. The family moved from California to Idaho in 1978. Gene drove truck for various trucking companies throughout the Magic Valley area for over 25 years until he retired in 2003. He loved spending time with his family, especially camping, motorbike riding and attending family reunions. He had a very special place in his heart for his dogs, Bo and Scooby Do. Gene was preceeded in death by his parents and 10 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his brother, Albert Bishop, of Carmichael, Ca, his life long friend Virginia Bishop of Hollister, Id, his children, Robert (Lorie) Bishop of Hollister, Id, Tamra (David) Sands of Carmichael, Ca, and Jennifer Spellerberg of Hollister, Id. He also has 4 grandchildren- Brandy (Randy) Slaymaker of Hansen, Id, Katie Sutton of Twin Falls, Id, Brock Spellerberg of Elko, Nv, and Jordan Spellerberg of Hollister, Id. He has 4 great grandchildren, Kaylee & Kinleigh Hill of Hansen, Id and Randy & Ashlynn Holler of Twin Falls, Id. Also one more great grandchild on the way. The family would like to send a very special thank you to the entire staff at Mt. View Hospital and Oak Creek Care Center in Kimberly, Id for the wonderful care they gave to our father. We love you Dad & Poppy and we know you are free of pain and in Heaven with your family once again.
