On October 19, 2012 our precious wife, mother and grandmother Jean Mathis Clough ascended to Heaven in the arms of angels. Jeanie was a vibrant, beautiful woman who loved life and everyone in her life to the fullest. She was born on September 27, 1932 in Twin Falls, ID to Troy and Elna Jones. She was raised & attended schools in Gooding and Twin Falls. She met the love of her life, James Mathis. They were married June 9, 1951 in Ely, NV. After marrying, they moved to El Paso, TX while he was serving in the Army. After completing his tour of duty, they moved to Twin Falls where they lived and raised their family. They were blessed with three daughters Sylvia, Debra and Lynn. Her passion in life was her family & friends. She was a "domestic engineer" being the best wife, mother and homemaker. Her hobbies began and ended with Christmas. In her home it was Christmas everyday with shopping, planning, cooking, decorating, wrapping and pondering all year where to place the biggest Christmas tree in town. Basically, she was Santa's right hand man & a jolly ole' soul. Her other hobbies included bowling, camping, Yahtzee, cards, Jackpot and visiting with her loved ones. On November 27, 1995 her first husband, Jim passed away. Four years later, she was blessed with a new love, Phillip Clough. They married April 10, 1999 in Las Vegas, NV. They spent many of their golden years traveling the United States and snowbirding in Arizona. Survivors are husband, Phillip Clough, brother, Gail Jones, Twin Falls, ID, children, Sylvia (Rick) Krambule, Syracuse, UT, Debra (Paul) Clark, Lynn (Brian) Harmison, Twin Falls, ID, Donita Taylor, Litchfield Park, AZ and Tony (Debra) Clough, Twin Falls, ID. She has 14 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild on the way and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, two brothers, Nyle and Armond Jones, a sister, Letha Hall, a son, Shane Clough, two great, great grandchildren, Kaidyn and Gabriele Kilburn. At the time of her death, she resided at Heritage Assisted Living. The family would like to express deep appreciation and gratitude for the wonderful care mom received and exceptional hospitality for the family. We would also like to thank Visions Home Health and Hospice for their guidance and care during this most difficult time.
