Carl William Blass

Carl William "Bill" Blass Sr. 82 of Filer, passed away at his home October 9, 2012. He was born on May 10, 1930 in Filer, Idaho to Ruth and Carl Blass. Always excelling in sports, he graduated from Filer High School in 1949. He attended SICE on a football scholarship. Bill married Glenna Hostetler in 1949. His passion was the love of the land. He farmed in Filer and was one of the original entry-man on Bell Rapids. After retiring he spent his winters in Arizona. When in Filer he started each morning with the "coffee group". He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Glenna Blass; his children: Arlene(Mark) Hurlburt, Pocatello, ID, Connie (Jerry) Miller, Nampa, ID, Bill Jr. (Lauren) Blass, Filer ID, Kimberly (Nick) Griffin, Sarasota, FL. Seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one brother, Bob (Norma) Blass. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Ruth Blass. An open house will be held at the family home Friday Oct. 12 from 2 - 6 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls.
