GLENN ELDON BARNES

Glenn Eldon Barnes, 83, of Twin Falls joined family members with our Heavenly Father on September 29, 2012. Glenn was the 4th of 9 children born to A. Emory and Dorothy Barnes in April of 1929. He grew up in Arco, Idaho, graduated from Arco High School in 1947 and served a mission among the Native American people in the Southwest Indian Mission. Soon after returning from his mission, he married and was sealed to Marva Lou Jenkins in the Logan LDS Temple on Sept 21, 1951. Settling in Arco, Idaho, they had eight children, who now live from Canada to the Mexican border. They had 35 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren with 2 additional great grandchildren on the way. They moved to Elko Nevada in 1960, and then in 1976 Glenn moved back to Idaho to work for Arrington Brothers Construction, which later became STARR Corporation in Twin Falls. His family joined him in July of 1978. Glenn had many church callings including Stake Sunday School counselor, Bishops counselor, Elder's quorum and high priest quorum presidencies. Glenn has enjoyed many friends and has always been a member of the LDS 10th ward. He has enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking and camping and loved to tell stories of his adventures to anyone willing to listen. Glenn had a great love for the gospel, his family and his friends. Glenn was preceded in death by his wife Marva and son Russell. He is survived by his sister Ruth Longmore of Rexburg and brothers Arlin Tracy of Layton, Utah, Edward Tracy of Star, children Lynda (Tom) Giles of Rio Rico, Arizona, Dianne (Lynn) Kunzler of Willard Utah, Luana (Kendall) Payne of Mountain View, Alberta, Canada, Lane (Marla) Barnes of Jerome, Idaho, Tracy of Jerome, Idaho, Ron (Tracey) of Shelley, Idaho and Anita of Twin Falls, Idaho, 34 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. His life will be celebrated on Wednesday October 3rd at the LDS South Stake Center located at 851 Harrison St. So. in Twin Falls at 10:00 a.m. A viewing will be held from 5 until 7 P.M. at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road in Twin Falls on October 2nd and from 9:00 to 9:30 on Wednesday at the South Stake Center. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
