Attonietta Cecelia "Netta" C. Jones, 97, of Wendell, formerly of Challis, passed away at her home on September 5, 2012. She was born on January 17, 1915 in Clayton, Idaho, the daughter of Marco and Celesta Fontnna Yacomella. Netta married Val Jones on Feb. 15, 1940. Together they raised two daughters. She spent her life as a homemaker. Netta was a hard worker. Raising her family, working in the fields and fixing fences were among her passions. Val and Netta later divorced. She loved spending time with her friends, crocheting, playing Rummy Cube and taking adventures up Morgan Creek. She was affectionately known by her grandchildren as "Granny" and will be remembered for her famous rigatoni and her fantastic ceramic pig collection. Music was another joy, she took trips to Nashville, and Memphis to enjoy her country music fascination. She loved attending country music concerts, getting the opportunity to see Marty Robbins ,Earl Thomas Conley, Randy Travis, Kenny Rogers, Conway Twitty, along with numerous others. Surviving are her daughters Vella and her husband Dale Hammond of Wilder, Darlene Williams of Wendell, son in law Ralph Williams of Challis, seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers - George and Frank and sister Mary. Netta will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the Challis Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home Wendell - Gooding Chapel.
