KEITH JAY OWENS

Keith Jay Owens, 53 of Gooding ID, born in Waverly, IA on July 6, 1959 to Lucile Baker Owens and Virgil L. Owens left this world to be free of the pain and suffering he endured from Cirrhosis of the Liver on August 13, 2012 in Twin Falls ID. He leaves behind many family and friends who loved him very much. Keith is survived by his son, Jonathan Wesley Owens of Boulder CO, sister Judy and brother-in-law Jerald Latwesen of Independence IA, nephews, Jeff and wife Jody Latwesen of Grundy Center IA and Jim and wife Missy Latwesen of Independence, IA. He also leaves 5 great nieces and nephews and 2 great great nieces that he adored and they lovingly called "Uncle Buck". Keith is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Diane. Keith is also survived by many friends but especially Maria Hickox, Jerry and Brandi Pierce, Sharon and Orus Bowles, and Becky and Harvey Mann. Keith attended University of Iowa where he earned his BSN. After earning his degree he served the U.S. Army as a Captain working as RN, in which he was deployed overseas in Desert Storm in his career of 9 years. After the army Keith worked as a RN first assistant, started up several surgery centers and until his sickness over took him was the Director of Perioperative Services for North Canyon Medical Center in Gooding ID. Keith loved many things but most of all he loved guns, to ride his Harley, his family and good times with friends. Services will be held where he was born and raised, Waverly IA. Memorials will also be scheduled in Washington, Colorado and Idaho for all those who loved him, to celebrate his life. Times and dates will be announced at a later date.
