Laurabelle Brown, 90, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away on August 4, 2012, following a short illness. Laurabelle was bom to Roy and Mae Lattin on September 6, l92l, in Nodaway County, MO, the middle child of 9 children. The family moved from Nebraska to Kimberly in 1934. She married Boyd B. Brown on July 2,1938, in Rockland, ID, and they raised four children on a farm southeast of Twin Falls. Laurabelle worked for 35 years at Fidelity Bank (later named Idaho First Bank and US Bank) in Twin Falls, starting as a bookkeeper, working her way up to the position of teller, and retiring as a member of the Escrow Department. Laurabelle also worked on the farm milking cows, raising calves on the bottle, riding horseback to herd cattle, gardening, and keeping the books. As a mother, Laurabelle encouraged her children in their many activities, acting as a Camp Fire leader, Boy Scout supporter, and driver to their piano and speech lessons. While waiting for children at their various meetings and lessons, she crocheted a 9 x 12 foot rag rug. That colorful rug still graces her dining room. She was an active member of the Twin Falls First United Methodist Church and the Shamrock Club, and she supported her husband's work in the National Farmers Association (NFO). After 65 years of wedded bliss, her husband, Boyd, passed away in 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, 3 sisters, and I grandson. She is survived by her children: Ralph (Betty) Brown, Lee's Summit, MO; June (Michael) Matteson, Ashton,ID; Thelma Jean Maynard, Carrboro, NC; David (Judy) Brown, Twin Falls; one brother Harold (Carolyn) Lattin, Mountain Home; 2 sisters-in-law, Gerry Lattin, Kimberly, & Maxine Smith of Twin Falls; 1 brother-in-law Virl (Norma) Brown, Blackfoot, ID; 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and I 0 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation for Laurabelle will be held on Thursday, August 9, from 5-7 pm at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 10, at 11:00 am at the Twin Falls First United Methodist Church, 360 Shoshone Street North, Twin Falls, with Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
