Marsha Jean Snow, 74, of Twin Falls passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012 at River Ridge Care Center in Twin Falls, Idaho. Marsha was born on a cold snowy day January 22.1938 to Lindsay Snow and Ora Viola (Burtenshaw ) Snow in Idaho Falls, Idaho. About age six she moved with her family to Twin Falls, Idaho. She was the second of four children and the only girl. She attended Lincoln Elementary School and Twin Falls Jr. High School (Now known as Vera C. O'Leary Jr. High School). She graduated from the "New" Twin Falls Senior High School on May 24, 1956. Her graduating class was the first class to attend all three years in the "new" high school before graduating. In the fall of 1956, Marsha started attending school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. At that time the classes were at the hospital. The class started working on the floor a couple of weeks after their classes started. At the completion of their studies, they went together as a class to Boise to take the State Boards. She received her Nursing license on December 16, 1957 and worked as a LPN until her retirement in 2003. She worked on Pediatrics at Magic Valley Regional Medical Center for 22 years and then spent 10 years working in the newborn nursery and the newborn intensive care nursery. Marsha, then went to work in several different nursing homes in the area until her retirement in 2003. In 1989, Marsha was nominated by her peers to receive the Dr. Frist Humanitarian Award. On May 12, 1993, she received a 30-year service award for her service to Magic Valley Regional Medical Center. Marsha was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities starting when she was only a teenager. She taught the 4-year-olds in Sunday School, was a Ward and Stake Mia Maid Leader, served on the Ward and Stake Relief Society Board, as Ward Music Director and Chorister for the Ward Choir. Her greatest love was working with the Young Women and she loved girls' camp. Marsha took several trips to Yellowstone National Park and Salt Lake City, UT with various family members and loved to go camping. She liked being in plays, road shows, narrating programs, singing in the church and school choirs, speech and drama scrapbooking, crocheting, and reading. She loved her family and had many good friends. Marsha was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents, brother, Richard (Dick), and his wife, Helen; and brother, John, and all but one of her aunts and uncles. She is survived by her brother, Earl Thomas "Tom" (Carma) of Twin Falls; her aunt, Dorothy Simerly of Jerome; Sister-in-law, Loreta (Gene) Dey of Twin Falls; Nephews: Douglas (Maura) Snow of Chelsmford, MA and their children Brian, Kevin, Robert & Patrick; John (Linda) Snow of Boise, ID; Gregory (Amber) Snow of Nevada and their daughter, Abra; and James (Dixie) Snow & their son, Kellan; Nieces: Marcie (David) Huey of Twin Falls and their children, Amanda and Daniel; and Laurel (David) Gibson of Twin Falls and their daughters, Hope and Brianna; and several step nieces and nephews along with great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, July 23, 2012 at Twin Falls South Stake Center at 851 Harrison St S. Twin Falls, with Bishop Keith Brown conducting. A visitation will be held Sunday, July 22, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home & Crematory, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, ID 83301 and on Monday, July 23, 10:00-10:45 AM in the Twin Falls South Stake Center.
