Dads Obituary: Twin Falls-- Our loving father and grandfather, Robert L. Stephens Jr., 68 , Walked quietly into our lords arms, Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at his daughter's home in Twin Falls, Idaho. Dad was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on October 15,1943, to Robert L. Stephens Sr. and Jesse Lou Ray. When Jesse passed away Robert's Aunt, Willie Mae Ray finished raising him with his three brother and sisters, Barbara, Glenda, and Willie(Tweet). Robert spent his formative years in Pensacola, Florida, where he eventually graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, in 1962. After high school Dad enlisted in the Army. He was sent to Vietnam, where he served his country with honor, receiving various medals including the " Medal of Valor". During his three tours in Vietnam, He married and had his first son, Robert L. Stephens lll,of Twin Falls, Idaho. Dad later married again and had his second son Kouvon Stephens, of Tacoma, Washington. Dad took a job as a forest ranger in Santa Rosa County, Florida. He also, worked for the city of Pensacola, and later as a truck driver . He loved living and stayed in touch with his family during his travels, he eventually returned to Florida to take care of his parents until their death. Dad eventually settled in Boise, Idaho, where he remained among friends, until his health no longer permitted. Dad enjoyed many things, he had an extreme interest in the "Buffalo Soldiers". He was proud of his sobriety and was very proud of his AA group in Boise. He had a love for the faith and loved his fellow brother's and sister's in Christ. He never got tired of hearing the gospels, or Pastor Ross, his spiritual leader, who kept Dad thinking about his spiritual well being along with the many brother and sister's of the St. Paul Baptist Church in, Boise, Idaho. He is survived by his two sons and a daughter, Robert L. Stephens lll, of Twin Falls, Idaho. Kouvon Stephens, and Jody Dewitte of Tacoma, Washington. His Daughter in laws Diedre L. Stephens and Carisa Stephens. He has eight grandchildren, Alexus Perry, and Antwaun Stephens, of Detroit, MI. Kaishon Hamann, Aries and Sadaris Stephens,of Twin Falls, ID., Kameron, Conner Beasley, Zarea Stephens, of Tacoma, WA., two sister's, Barbara Puryean, Glenda Williams, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Willie(Tweet) Goldsmith. A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the St. Paul's Baptist Church in Boise at 11:00 A.M.
