Barbara was born August 15, 1948 in Turlock, California to Donald and Hazel Thompson joining her brother Floyd Thompson and her sister Janet Graham completing a family of 5. From early childhood she always lived adventurous. She had no limits put on life, gaining new experiences and seeing new places became a passion. She loved anything outdoors from taking strolls on the beach to camping in the mountains. Along with traveling places she began collecting items such as rocks, lighthouses, pine cones, and sea shells and she also loved the calming sound of chimes blowing in the wind. Barbara was a very family oriented woman and loved to participate in family outings such as barbeques, boating, fishing, and even hunting. She was a very strong and determined woman and would do just about anything for her loved ones. Anyone thatgot the pleasure of meeting Barbara would all have to agree that starting or having a conversation was never a problem for her and it was never a mystery what she had on her mind. She dedicated 46 years of her life to her best friend and life-long companion, Michael Donabedian. They got married in Turlock California August 27, 1966 and together they started a family and raised 3 beautiful children, Jack Donabedian, Christie Needs, and Janette Smith. As of today they have 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. On Monday, July 3rd, 2012 Barbara got to experience something that we all long for, to be in the embrace and presence of the Lord. Nobody is ever ready to say goodbye but the love and memories will never pass. Although she is not of the flesh in our presence, in spirit she will live for eternity. "To everything there is a season, a time to every purpose under the heaven: a time to be born, a time to die, a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal, a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance."
