Dorothy Jane Bartak, 91, of Twin Falls, passed away on June 10, 2012, at River Ridge Care Center in Twin Falls. She was born on April 7, 1921 in Wood Lake, California the daughter of Ream and Celia Doughty Swope. At the age of five she moved with her family to Twin Falls. She graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1939. On June 16, 1968 she married Stephen Bartak. Together they shared 29 wonderful years. Dorothy worked as an office clerk for the South Idaho Production Credit Association, retiring in 1978 after 36 years of dedicated service. Hard work and dedication was a normal part of Dorothy's life. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Association, and the Twin Falls Senior Center where she served as manager. She was also dedicated to the Lord and was a member of the Twin Falls First Christian Church, where she sang in the Church Choir and served as Sunday School Superintendent. Dorothy also enjoyed bowling and in 1967 her bowling efforts won her a trip to Washington, DC to bowl on a National Women's Bowling League. Surviving are her two nieces - Margaret Omans of Tacoma, Washington, and Joan Baugh of Ontario, OR, and cousin Jeanie Doolittle of Kimberly. She was preceded in death by her husband - Stephen Bartak, her parents, sister - Helen Swan and brother - Morris Swope. Dorothy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends may call on Friday, June 15, 2012 from 10 - 11 AM at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd., and Twin Falls.
