Ella Mina Hunter 1914-2012 Ella Mina (Helms) Hunter, 97, formerly of Oakley Idaho, died at home on Wednesday, May 23, 2012. She was born on August 28, 1914, in Cottonwood, near Oakley, Idaho, the daughter of Theodore Jackson Helms and Alice May Groves. She attended schools in Cottonwood, Declo and Oakley, Idaho. Minnie, as she was lovingly called, married James LeRoy Hunter, September 16, 1937 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Boise, Idaho Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They had five children and adopted a sixth. She was so proud of them all. She is survived by her five children Helen Taylor, Les and(Leslie) Hunter, daughter-in-law Marie Hunter, Herb and (Cathy) Hunter, LaRaeand (Clyde) Warren. As well as three sisters, Virginia Mullen of Oakley, Dorothy and(Edward) Bush of Fruitland and Jackie and (Jerry) Gochnour of Hazelton; 19 grandchildren, numerous great,great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband (1985) and her son James Hunter. Also, three sisters, eight brothers, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Some of Mina's favorite memories were of her time spent with Roy in the mountains while he herded sheep. She proudly raised her children. Then she opened up her heart and home to many of her grandchildren over the years,as well as her nieces Alice and Martha Hunter when their mother passed away. She loved them very much. She also loved any time she could spend with her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. After her husband died, she moved in with LaRae, and she lived there happily for the rest of her life. This made it possible for her to feel free to travel to each of her children's homes when she desired or when in need. She also loved spending time with her siblings. In fact, for many years she and her sister, Alice, traveled around together and they were quite the pair! She was our Angel on Earth, now she has gone to fly with the Angels and watch us from above. Never will you find a greater woman. All who knew her - loved her! She will be greatly missed by us all.
