Dorothy Marion (Andreasen) Chapman August 7, 1920- March 19, 2012 Dorothy Marion Chapman, 91, of Camano Island, Washington passed away Monday, March 19, 2012 at Providence Medical Center in Everett, WA surrounded by family. Dorothy was born August 7, 1920 on the family farm in Bostwick, Nebraska to Jens Peder Andreasen and Alma Christina (Jensen) Andreasen. She was the second oldest of five children. She was baptized (1921) and confirmed (1936) at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Abdel, NE. Dorothy went to school at Sandy Knob Grade School and graduated high school as an honor student, in 1937 from Superior, NE. On October 24, 1939 she married the love of her life, Ralph Chapman, in Eden, ID. Through this union they raised five sons and nine daughters and were able to share 59 wonderful years together. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with family and friends, being a caregiver, cooking, embroidering, playing games, playing the piano, reading, and watching wrestling. She is survived by her two sisters Lois Degner of Kimberly, ID and Mary (Raymond) Grummert of Holdrege, NE. Her children Patricia Shadduck of Superior, NE; Ronald (Dolores) Chapman of Fairfield, ID; Linda (Verlin) Fiscus, Richard (Jo) Chapman, Judy Laymance, and Michael Chapman all of Twin Falls, ID; Debra (Jerry) Moler of Texarkana, AR; Rebecca Brown (Alan Johnston) of Camano Island, WA; Jeanne (Darcy) Jackson of Hastings, NE; and son-in-law Ronnie Dick of WA. As well as, 34 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren, and 25 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Lavern Andreasen and Margaret Washington; husband, Ralph Chapman; children: Dale Chapman, Gail Chapman, Sunny Dick, Jo Ann Winn and Neal Chapman; granddaughter Carrie Edwards; and great grandson Chad Shadduck. A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held at 10:30am on Monday, March 26th, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 400 Irene St, Kimberly, Idaho with Rev. Baldwin Camin officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Gooding, ID. A viewing for family and friends will be held Sunday, March 25th from 3-5pm at Parke's Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, Idaho.
