Obituary for Thelma Viola Stanger Thelma Viola Stanger went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, February 18, 2012. She is now with her beloved husband and son. Thelma was born on December 12, 1915, in Lamar, Missouri, to Joseph and Flora Harrison. She had one sister, Oralda. As a teenager, Thelma was named Miss Tarkio, Missouri. Her family later moved to Idaho, where Thelma met Garald Stanger. They were married on November 26, 1936. Their marriage was later sealed in the Salt Lake City temple. Garald and Thelma farmed in Hansen, Idaho for many years. They had three children, Beverly, William Joseph (who preceded Thelma in death) and Marion. Thelma enjoyed working on the farm and raising a family with Garald. In the winters, Garald and Thelma enjoyed traveling to Arizona. After Garald's death, Thelma worked for 23 years as a pink lady at Magic Valley Memorial Hospital. She also enjoyed traveling with friends, ceramics, painting, and latch hook. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Garald; son, W.J.; and sister, Oralda. She is survived by daughters Beverly (Clinton) Bean, and Marion (Eldon) Larson; five grandchildren, Brent (Lori) Bean, Jeanette (Merle) Warren, Laurie (Michael) Crown, Shaila (Earl) Molyneux, and Doug (Michelle) Larson; 15 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
