Carmen Warren, 91, of Twins Falls, Passed away on January, 26 2012. She was born in Carstairs, Canada to Howard and Katherine (Hochbaum) DeWitt, on May 27 1920. Her Father went to Canada to work. They returned to Idaho after her father became ill with typhoid fever. She was raised on a five acre farm on Washington St. which is now known as the DeWitt subdivision. She attended school in Twin Falls, Idaho and upon graduation she went on to beauty school. After her schooling, Carmen was employed at a beauty shop above the Paris clothing store. On Nov.7th, 1942, Carmen married Layton C. Warren. They worked side by side on their twenty acre farm on Blue Lakes Blvd. when it was a two lane road. They raised strawberries, onions, and certified yellow sweet Spanish onion seed. They sold their farm on Blue Lakes when they saw that the town was moving out towards the canyon. They then purchased a farm in Hansen, Idaho. Carmen is survived by her two children Rex (DeeAnn) Warren and Katherine (Raymond) Dey, three grandchildren, Lorie (Mark) England, Ray (Teresa) Dey , and Katie Maas, nine great grandchildren, four sisters, Lodema Feldhusen, Maurine Eslinger, Dahlia Chouiniere, Shirley Cerva, and one brother - Delos DeWitt; and many nieces and nephews. Along with all her friends at Heritage. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband - Layton, and sister - Sylvia Ruhter, and foster brother -Frank Kruger. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. The family request in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Heritage/Woodstone Alzheimer's unit, 622 Filer Ave. West, Twin Falls, ID 83301.
