Carma Ann Griffith Duncan 1919 - 2012 Carma Ann Griffith Duncan, 92, died January 3, 2012 at St. Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls after a lengthy battle with renal failure. Carma was born on June 18, 1919 in Hazel, Idaho, the fourth daughter of Charlotte Jane (Jenny) and Charles E. (Ed) Griffith. Her childhood years were spent in Oakley. Her teenage years occurred in Jerome. Carma met her lifelong partner, Howard L. Duncan, when he hired her to cut seed potatoes. They were married on February 2, 1947 in Jerome. Together Carma and Howard raised 5 children. Carma was a tireless worker. She spent as much time outside on the farm irrigating and driving a truck as she spent inside cooking, canning, and mending. She enjoyed making quilts, especially with friends and family. She also enjoyed rock hunting with her husband and family. They were members of the Magic Valley Gem Club. Carma was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, five brothers, and three sisters. She leaves 5 children: Ron E. (Barbara) Shockley of Twin Falls, Judy A. Duncan of Boise, Scott L. Duncan of Burley, Rocky G. (Susan) Duncan of Washington, Utah and Dixie D. Summers of Burley. She has six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 A.M. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Star First Ward, 200 S. 100 W., Burley, Idaho. Services will be conducted by Bishop Chris Seybold. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 8th from 5-7:00 P.M. at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd., Twin Falls and also at the church from 10:00 until 10:45 A.M. on Monday before the service.
