Gary W. Love passed away on Thursday Dec. 22, at 1:00 p.m. peacefully at home. He knew his Lord and was looking forward to the coming of Jesus. He looked for every opportunity to share the good news with any who were seeking . I would like to thank all of you who encouraged him during this long battle with bone cancer. This includes friends, family, doctor, and hospice . But most of all Gary would want to thank God for all the miracles along the way. Sixteen months with bone cancer pain free, when the average is four months with terrible pain. As he became more unsteady and had small falls, he sustained no bad injuries. Kind gifts that made the time more bearable. There will be a celebration of life on January 14th 4:00 pm at the Twin Fall's Seventh-Day Adventist Church, located at 131 Grandview Dr. We would like for those who knew him to send a short story or memory of their contacts to
[email protected]. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to either Jubilee House or Three Angels Broardcasting Network. There will be a meal and fellowship following the service, at Hilltop Adventist School, located next to the Church. Gary was born on February 15th to Edna and Henry Funk in Bakersfield, Cal. He had one younger brother Daryl. All three preceded him in death.Gary was blessed to be able to attend Christian Schools from elementary thru collage. Gary believed that nothing in life happens by chance and that God has a plan for each one of us, as the Bible says. Life experiences, both good and bad, mold us and help make us better, stronger Christians. Romans 8:28, And we know that all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. Eph. 2:10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Gary married his first wife, Susan Hooper, while attending Pacific Union College. At that time they decided to change their last name to Davis. To that marriage they had four children. Gary felt one of his greatest achievements was delivering his oldest daughter ,Carlene, at home. Then came Mitchell and another daughter, Melissa.Do to several miscarriages, they decided to adopt a baby boy from Korea. Waiting for Forrest to arrive took longer than a pregnancy. After twenty-one years they were divorced . Three years later Gary put an ad in the Church magazine,The Gleaner, and Judy Love answered and they were married June 24th, 1985.Judy had younger age children and wanted to have part of her last name to be Love. Gary asked his children if they cared if he changed his name to Love. They said it was fine. So he added four step children to his family when they married. Gary worked helping his father in home construction during the summers until he graduatd from College. Then after eleven years working as an electronic technician,he took two weeks off to clear some timber off their land. It was so much more enjoyable that he worked for two years in the woods falling trees. He began working for others as a framer and finish carpenter and finally got his own license. That was the work he did until his illness prevented him from continuing. There were many times that God preserved his life and directed him into further service in telling others about Jesus. He was working on book to praise God for all the miracles for the last few months before his death.
