Barbara Ann O'Halloran Sievers, age 79, of Kimberly, Idaho passed away Sunday December 11, 2011 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho. On January 19, 1932, a beautiful baby girl was born in Twin Falls to Ann and Harry O'Halloran. She was the first born of six children and became the example and leader for all of them to follow. She was a great help to her mom and dad. This was her first job and she took it very seriously, never slacking off, even when the kids were adults. She was a special angel, always willing to help or be a sympathetic ear for those in need. She had the ability to sooth and comfort all. She has touched many, many lives with her kindness and love. She attended St. Edward's School through the sixth grade, O'Leary Junior High, and Twin Falls High School, graduating in 1950. She loved learning and participated in many programs throughout her education. While in high school, she went to work for a local physician, where she was a lab technician, a job she loved. Later she went to work for Magic Valley International until she retired. She met Herman Sievers and they married in 1954, they shared a life of love and happiness for 57 years. To this union was born four children. Barb and Herm taught their children and grandchildren how to care for others and to see beauty and love in the people and world around them. They loved to travel and took many trips with friends, during their years with the Knights of Columbus. One of her favorite trips was a family trip to Prince Edward Island where her father grew up. Barb was a lifetime member of St. Edward's Catholic Church and devoted may hours to school events, Eucharistic ministry, and the Cursillo movement. Her kindness and love touched many people. She has left her mark on the hearts of many and will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. Barb and her four sisters (The O'Halloran daughters) were very close. After their mother passed away, they leaned on each other and became even closer. Barb had many talents; she taught all of the sisters to knit and was the instigator of many novel projects. On those days of "crafting" they shared many giggles and much laughter, remembering things about the past and their lives as children. For the last several years the five of them would visit people at Christmas and deliver cookies and candy to share during the holidays. Barb was always caring and compassionate towards others. She would immediately send a card or make a call to families that she heard were sick or having a hard time adjusting to some of the unpleasantness of life. She will leave a void in all of us who loved her. On November 4, 2011, Barb was in a serious car accident. She was life-flighted to Idaho Falls and fought a courageous battle until the day of her death. Her determination and concern for others was admired by all, even during her final hours. In spite of all the prayers and wishes of her many friends, Barb passed away on December 11, 2011 at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. Surviving are her husband - Herman of Kimberly, children - Anne (John) Gay of Pullman, Washington, Laurie Sievers of Kimberly, Tom (Lynette) Sievers of Kimberly, grandchildren - Matt, Chris and Elizabeth Gay; Logan; Arron, Trevor and Tory Sievers; Sisters Pat (Dick) Sterling, Colleen Fillmore, Annette (Carl) Skabronski and Sheila (Mike Brock) Axtman, all of Twin Falls.
