Cyril Jay "C.J." Canning 69, of Nampa, Idaho passed away Monday December 5, 2011 in Gooding, Idaho. Cyril was born July 29, 1942 in Shelly, Idaho to Thomas and Helen Canning, where he attended Nampa public schools. After finishing school he joined the Army were he served his country and returned home after his discharge. C.J. continued his education and became a journeyman heavy equipment operator. He worked as an equipment operator for Water Front in Seattle, WA and in Southern OR and the Treasure Valley, ID. He operated a gold mine in Cave Junction, OR. and also worked in oil fields in TX and CA, He was retired at the time of his death. He loved bowling, hunting and fishing, he was an avid poker player but he especially loved spending time with his family. Cyril was preceded in Death by his father Thomas Canning Sr. who died at 91. Cyril is survived by his mother, Helen I. Canning age 91, of Nampa, ID, 2 brothers, Thomas of Nampa, ID, Bill of Caldwell, ID and a sister Judy Frickey of Nampa, ID. C.J. was a friend to everyone, he would give help and assistance easily, he will be missed by all.
