Betty R Menck 73, of Twin Falls, Idaho died peacefully at her daughter's home in Kimberly on Sunday November 28, 2011, she had been fighting Cancer. Betty was born in Pocatello, Idaho on October 29, 1938 to Lawrence Nafus and Hazel Simms, from Missiouri. The Nafus' moved to the Twin Falls area in the late 1940's. Betty went to school at Hansen and then in Kimberly. She later graduated from Cosmetology School in 1954. Betty's first husband was Rex Ledbetter of Kimberly, they had two children together, a daughter born in 1956, Terri (Schultz) and a son born in 1959, Larry, who has preceded her in death, four years late came a divorce. Her second marriage was to Jim Elkins and a third marriage to Rod Menck. They lived in Twin Falls for many years, Terri and Larry graduated from High School in the 1970's. Betty loved and appreciated the outdoors and the time spent in her flower garden, her favorite hobby was to crochet, she had many items with awesome workmanship. Betty would also make quilts from scrap materials. When the mention of a road trip came up she was ready in a second, she loved to travel, to see, enjoy and to explore new places. It was especially fun when the family joined in for the last twenty years, those were the best times. Betty loved her little Toy Poodle "Pepper", he went everywhere with her, Pepper was Betty's buddy. Survived by Betty is her sister, Judi Schroeder of Boise and three nieces, Tina, Lisa and Angie and more relatives that live in Montana. Betty has two granddaughters, Devin Johnson and Staci DeLeon and a grandson Kycee Schultz. Four great-granddaughters, Brytnie, Kyla, Kenzie and Carmindy. After passing, Betty's wishes were for cremation. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 9, 2011 at 2pm, at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, with Brett Buckley Officiating. In Lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted to help with funeral costs.
