Clarice went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ on November 20, 2011 after a long courageous battle with a plethora of medical conditions. Clarice was a fighter and for the past two years she fought her illnesses with the mantra "one day at a time". Clarice A. Slater was born on February 22, 1925 in Pocatello, Idaho to George and Lillian Theobald. She was raised in railroad towns across Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. Clarice married Gail Miller in 1947. They lived in Glenns Ferry, Idaho. Their daughter Linda was born on January 20, 1949 and their son Wesley (Buck") was born on December 23, 1951. Clarice was married to Gail for 9 years. After their divorce she moved to Buhl, Idaho where she concentrated on raising her two children. Clarice raised her kids as a single mom. They attended Buhl First Christian Church, where all three were baptized into Jesus Christ. In 1972 family friends introduced her to Vernon Slater from Filer, Idaho. They hit it off and were married on November 10th, 1972. Clarice and Vernon made their home on a farm between Buhl and Filer. They retired in 1995. Clarice and Vernon's happiest moments were when her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren came to visit on the farm. They also enjoyed many road trips' and fun vacations together. When Vernon became ill and succumbed to his illnesses in 2008, Clarice moved to Boise to live with her daughter Linda and her husband Larry. While living in Boise, Clarice became a member of Foothills Christian Church, where she attended regularly and her faith in Christ grew stronger. She made many new friends while living in Boise. Clarice was preceded in death by her parents and step-father,, her husband Vernon, and her brother Stan Theobald. She is survived by her two children, Linda Miller McGhee (Larry) and Wesley "Buck" Miller (Candi), her sister Lois Gage, her 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Services are under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home in Twin Falls . A funeral service is being planned for Saturday November 26 at 10 AM at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd., Twin Falls, Idaho with burial following at the Twin Falls Cemetery Clarice has fought the good fight; she has finished the race and has kept the faith. Now there is in store for her the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to her that day-and not only to her, but also to all who have longed for His appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8
