Daniel (Dan) William Roesler went home on November 19 at 2:20 AM. He was born May 23, 1942 to Martin and Irma Roesler of Clover, Idaho. He was raised on the family farm in Clover. Dan's early schooling was at Clover Trinity Lutheran School. He went to Filer High School his Freshman year (1956-57) and finished High School at Concordia High School in Portland, Oregon (1957-1960). Dan's college education started at Concordia Jr. College in Portland (1960-62) and continued at Concordia Senior College in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He graduated with a BA concentrating in Religious Studies (1964). Dan attended Concordia Theological Seminary in St. Louis for one year (1964-65). Dan taught and coached at Messiah Lutheran School in Independence, Missouri, and also served as youth director at Messiah. Dan became a data processing computer programmer for Jackson County in Kansas City, MO in 1967. In 1970 he went to work as a systems engineer for Electronic Data Systems Corp (EDS) in Minneapolis, MN. In 1975 Dan and his family moved to the Bay Area in California. He worked as a systems engineer in San Francisco until he retired in 1997. He did some independent consulting and contracting until 2001. Dan is survived by his wife of 46 years, Susanne and his sister Faye Hall of Newark, CA. He has four children; Rebecca (Robert) Moore of Declo , Jamie (Bruce) Barrett, of Fremont CA., David (Melissa) Roesler of Union City, CA, Jonathan (Becca) Roesler of Meridian. He has nine wonderful grandchildren (ages 7 months- 21 years of age), nieces and nephews, many cousins and Aunt Leola of Nebraska. Dan is also leaving behind many close friends. Dan and Sue have lived on the family "home place" in the Clover community for the past 11 years. They have been active members of Clover Trinity Lutheran Church since moving back to Idaho in 2000. Dan was privileged to be a chaplain in the jail ministry in Twin Falls for several years, and he was also a member of the Gideons. Dan's faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, has directed his entire life and he is finally home. Services will be be Saturday, November 26,11:00 AM at Clover Lutheran Church, Buhl, Idaho. Interment will follow in the Clover cemetery. A viewing will be held at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home on Friday, November 25 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. The family request memorials be made in Dan's name to the Clover Lutheran School.
