Wallace Duane Yule

May 6, 1925 — November 11, 2011

Wallace "Wally" Yule passed away on November 11, 2011 at the Oak Creek facility in Kimberly, Idaho. Wally was born on May 6, 1925 in Springfield, South Dakota. He was the third of five children. Wally graduated from high school in 1943, became a carpenter, and married Betty Lou Knudson on August 8, 1947. They had three children and in 1962 they moved from the Minneapolis area to Indian Creek Ranch in Idaho where Wally was an outfitter and guide in the wilderness area. After moving into Salmon, Wally went back to building houses and later became building inspector for the city of Salmon and for Lemhi County. Wally was a member of the Salmon United Methodist Church for almost 50 years. He was also a member of the local Elks organization. Wally loved working with horses, and won many chariot racing trophies over the years. After retirement, Wally and Betty traveled across the United States, Hawaii and Alaska, and to Europe where they visited Norway and other nearby countries. Due to poor health, they left Salmon in August, 2010 to live in Twin Falls where they would be closer to their two daughters. Wally is survived by his daughters, Diane Schorzman (children Jessica and Joshua) of Twin Falls and Donna Yule (children Reggie, Derek and Julius) of Boise. Wally also has seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Yule and son, Gary Yule, his parents and one sister. Wally will be dearly missed. An inurnment service in Salmon for both Wally and Betty Yule will be held sometime in the spring of 2012.
