Obituary: Jean Routt Jean Routt, 93, of Twin Falls passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 11, 2011. She was born on October 21, 1917, in Coin, Iowa. The family moved to Idaho in 1921. She attended school at the Union School located at the Curry Crossing and later settled in the Castleford area. She married Frank Mraz in 1935 and had four children, Carol Ann Jones, of Twin Falls; Jerry L. Mraz, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; Donald Dean Mraz and Robert Wayne Mraz. Jean was always busy throughout her life. She worked along with Frank, farming near Castleford. After Frank passed on in early 1963, Jean and Jerry moved to Twin Falls where she found work as a clerk in the Sew and Save Fabric Store. In the latter part of 1963, she met and married Eldon Routt. Together they enjoyed camping trips and following the CSI Basketball Team. Eldon passed away in 1987. Jean enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking for family gatherings. She continued to follow basketball. Even though she only had an 8th grade education she read books on many subjects, especially Idaho History. She is survived by one Son, Jerry (LaAnna) Mraz of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; one Daughter, Carol (Henry) Jones of Twin Falls, Idaho; one Brother, George (Fran) Merkle of Boise, Idaho; one Sister, Kay of Arlington, Texas; one Sister-In-Law, Arlene Merkle of Boise, Idaho; four grandchildren, Tony (Cindy) Jones, Christy Horton, Jennifer (Brandon) Collins, and Matthew Mraz; and eight great grandchildren Jeffery Jones, Justin Jones, Zakary Jerke, Devan Horton, Hunter Collins; as well as Tayden, Tiana, and Hannah. She was preceded in death by her parents Helen and Charles Merkle; Sister, Bette Schroeder; Brother Edward Merkle; Brother John Merkle; two infant sons, Donald Dean Mraz and Robert Wayne Mraz. The family would like to personally thank the administration and staff at Heritage Assisted Living for their caring ways to make Jean feel like family. Friends may call on Thursday, September 15, 2011 from 5 - 7 P.M. at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd., Twin Falls. Graveside services will be held Friday, September 16, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Sunset Memorial Park in Twin Falls.
