John Bertie

Our beloved father, husband, brother, grandfather and friend, John Patrick Bertie passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, August 27, 2011. John was born in Pueblo, Colorado, on March 17, 1927 to Cecilia L. Warnick Bertie and Thomas H. Bertie. John lived most of his life in Twin Falls. He was involved in shaping the Poultry Industry both locally and nationally, was a civic leader and became an avid gardener after retiring. John is survived by his wife Irene Bertie; his sister Alice Bertie Armstrong, his children, Cecilia Bertie Harmon, Susan Bertie Nace, Tim Bertie, and Patricia Bertie Shillinger; seven grandchildren; Tamara Karaloff Scott, Patrick Karaloff, Arthur Harmon, Hannah Bertie Wohler, James Bertie, James Bixby and Blake Bixby; and eleven great-grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thanks to St. Luke's Hospice for all of their help and care. The family would also like to give a very special thank you to Brian McDaniel and Karen Peters for their care and kindness allowing John to remain in his home until his passing.
