Harold "S." Griffiths was born April 5, 1931 in Twin Falls, and passed away Sunday, August 28, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He attended Greenwood Elementary School and graduated from Hazelton High School in 1949. During his high school career he enjoyed many sports such as football, track and basketball. On September 23, 1949 he married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Jean McClain. He then joined the US Navy, serving on the USS Gardner's Bay. Harold worked with his son for over thirty years farming and running two hydro power plants together. He also had a passion for fishing and hunting, and spent many years with his friend Jack Toothman enjoying the outdoor and being mischievous together. Harold will be remembered for his great sense of humor, and he always enjoyed teasing his grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 62 years Shirley of Hazelton, children - Connie (Randee) Martin of Paul, ID, Cheryl (Mark) Okelberry and Gerald (Sandy) Griffiths of Hazelton, two nephews - Ted and Doug Griffiths, eleven grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents - Jack and Lillian Griffiths, brother - Jackie Griffiths, and his granddaughters husband Kevin. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his coffee drinking buddies from the community. Friends may call on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Rd. in Twin Falls from 5 - 7 P.M. Funeral services will be on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Parke's Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M. with burial following at the Hazelton Cemetery.
