Junior Samuel Andy' Anderson 1924 - 2011 Junior Samuel Andy' Anderson, 87, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, August 14, 2011 after a long, full life. Andy was born the youngest of twelve children on March 29, 1924 in Star, Idaho to Andrew and Pearl Anderson. After graduating from Burley High School in 1943, Andy enlisted in the army. He served in the 276th regiment of the 70th Army Infantry Division, known as the Trailblazers, during WW II Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns. He was honorably discharged as a sergeant in April of 1946. Andy returned to live in Burley, Idaho and worked for Consolidated Freightways for 36 years as a driver salesman. In 1947, he married Doris Cavanaugh and together they raised their children. He loved working hunting dogs and won field trial events in the Burley Field Trial Club with his 2 English Pointers. He also served as a volunteer with the Burley Fire Department for many years until he and Doris moved their family to Twin Falls just before her death in 1976. Andy met Joyce Knox Baldwin at a Twin Falls Moose Lodge dance and they courted at the Williams' Reservoir where they enjoyed fishing together. They married on September 5, 1981. One of his greatest achievements early in their marriage was his desire to set a good example to his family by becoming a recovering alcoholic and giving up smoking a year later. Later in his life he gave his heart to the Lord; he read the Bible through several times, studied scripture and regularly attended the Twin Falls Reformed Church. Andy enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a life-long outdoorsman and greatly enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved making smoked fish and jerky. He also enjoyed reading Louis L'Amour books, watching John Wayne and the Braves baseball team, and playing dominos with his long-time friend Lloyd Reiger. Andy was most famous for his spectacular gardening skills, and he was known to provide produce out of his garden for his family, friends and anyone who visited. Andy was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris; siblings Marvin Red', Merlin Whitey', Lamar, Onda, Omar, Josie, Jake, Shady, Pearl, and Elaine; two step-daughters Kathy Anderson and Judy (Bob) Huitt; and his parents. Andy is survived by his wife Joyce of Twin Falls and brother Clyde Anderson of Burley.
