Wayne Stiles Walker Wayne S. Walker, 83, of Kimberly, died Monday, August 1st after a short illness. He was born on September 27, 1927 at Hansen, Idaho to Clyde C. and Ruth H. Walker, and lived his childhood years and went to school in Hansen. He married Jacklyn J. Young on April 5, 1947 at Elko, Nevada, and they made their home on the family farm at Hansen for the next few years, raising cattle and farming. Wayne went into the construction business around 1956 with his brother-in-law, Artell Aslett and later started and ran his own construction company building roads. He loved working on the road and took his family with him all over Idaho and parts of Washington, Wyoming, Oregon, and Nevada for the next several years. He eventually settled his family in Kimberly, Idaho, but continued to travel and build roads throughout Idaho and the surrounding states. For the last several years of his life, he worked for his son, Kelly Walker's construction business, Snake River Construction, where his grandson, Trevor Wake, was his superintendent. He was an expert loader operator and hard worker. Road construction was his enjoyment and his life and he looked forward every year to the beginning of the road construction season. Wayne is survived by his daughter, Diane Kerbs (Bob) of Parker, Arizona; his son, Kelly Walker of Kimberly, Idaho; one brother, Bruce Walker, of Seattle, Washington; his three grandchildren, Levin Walker, of Twin Falls, Idaho; Krista Williams (Wes) of Woods Cross, Utah; and Trevor Wake (Jennifer) of Filer, Idaho; six great grandchildren, Alexie, Gennivyve and Zavyer Williams of Woods Cross, Utah; and Austin, Skyler and Chantel Wake of Filer, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jacklyn J. Walker, his oldest son, Larry Walker; his parents, Clyde and Ruth Walker; one brother, John W. "Bill" Walker, and three sisters, Virginia Walker, Dorothy Nielsen, and Sally Pett. His memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls. The family requests no flowers.
