William "Bill" Haffner, 97, passed away peacefully with family by his side. Bill was born in 1913 in Aberdeen, Idaho, the son of Christ and Fredia Haffner. He married his wife Hazel on June 14, 1940 in Los Angeles, California. They moved to Twin Fall, in 1950, where Bill continued a successful locksmith business, (Haffner's). In 1967 Bill received the National Locksmith Award of Merit for Outstanding Technical Contributions through a competition sponsored by National Locksmith Magazine. He retired in 1975. He enjoyed fishing, and the outdoors. He enjoyed teaching his grandchildren to fish. He traveled most of the United States before his locksmithing days. He loved to work on all sorts of things, including car and truck engines. Bill was proceeded in death by his wife of 55 years - Hazel, and later in life by his beloved friend Marjorie Reis, both parents, four sisters and six brothers. Surviving are his two daughters - Donna Sherland of Twin Falls, Laura Andersen of Twin Falls, step-son Art Mader of Twin Falls, two grandchildren - William Andersen, and Stephanie McCarty (Andersen), one great grandson - Jules McCarty of Twin Falls and two sisters - Ella and Virginia. Friends and family may call to give their best wishes to the family at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd, Twin Falls on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 from 6:30 P.M. to 8 P.M. A private interment will follow at a later date at the Sunset Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls.
