February 12, 1944 — June 21, 2011

Phillip (Phil) Foster February 12, 1944 - June 21, 2011 Phil Foster 67, passed away June 21, 2011 peacefully at his home in Twin Falls, Idaho. Born Feb 12, 1944 to Henry and Mertle (Skelton) Foster in Forum, AR. Phil was the fifth child of ten. At the age of 17, Phil joined the Navy and served from 1961 -1965, he was stationed on the USS Yorktown and the USS Oriskany Phil was a jack of all trades; he did everything from farming to working in the saw mills. He loved music, fishing, reading, telling jokes, and watching Western TV and movies but his real passion was Genealogy. He spent many years researching his Family Tree, back many generations. Phil is survived by his wife Connie (Barnes), Children Tawnya Nee (Richard), Kathy Carllson, Shane Carllson (Chris), William Carllson (Maria), Tony James (Angie), Tim James (Michelle), Theresa Oettchen (Wade), Tracy Foster (Kelly), Tera Johnston(Jeff). Also surviving are 22 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren; Sisters Dean Grammer, Betty Dimmitt (Leo), Sherry Beard (Robert), Kay Planton, and Brothers Preston Foster (Mary),Terry Foster (Pam), and David Foster along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert (Bob) Foster and Charles(Charlie) Foster, brother-in-law Mike Planton and daughter Marsha (Marty) Carllson. Phil was loved by all and will be truly missed. Special thanks to Mandy Silvis and Family for all their love and support. We would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Hospice Visions especially John Armbruster, Merelda Okelberry, Carl Spaulding, Paul Jordan, Karen Martinat, Heidi Walker and Debbie Cottle, without whom this would have been an impossible journey. Cremation was under the direction of the Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home and Phillip will be laid to rest in the Idaho Veterans Cemetery in Boise, Idaho.
