Glenda Irene Bowen 1924 - 2011 Glenda Irene Bowen of Meridian, Idaho passed away late Saturday night, May 28, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital in Twin Falls, Idaho of of natural causes. She was born April 29, 1924 in Burley, Idaho to Virgie Ann (Judd) and William Lesley "Les" Tadlock. She married Lawrence W. Bowen July 6, 1944 after he returned from the China/India/Burma theater of operations, having completed his 50 bombing missions with the 22nd Bomb Squadron in the Army Air Force. She worked at one of the many aircraft factories in Los Angeles, CA as a parts and tool room clerk during WWII until Lawrence returned. She met him through her roommate, Norma Jean, Lawrence's sister. They were married 62+ years. She loved the sea and fearlessly was chief cook aboard "Saga", a small sailboat. Traveling with husband and son, she sailed the Eastern Seaboard of the U.S., Bermuda and the U.S. and British Virgin Islands. In the 1980s and 1990s, she and her beloved husband were "snowbird RVers" living in Arizona and So. California. She loved that as well. Mr. Bowen passed away Feb. 16, 2007. She missed him every single day. She was still in mourning for her Great-Grandson, Matthew Wilkins, whom passed away late 2010. Glenda waspreceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lawrence and two older brothers, Roy and Wendell. Surviving her are son, Randy Bowen (Meridian), daughter, Sandee Boyce(Meridian), two grand daughters, Richelle Stowe(Meridian) and Nicole Hostetler (Las Vegas) and five great grandchildren, one brother, Lyle Tadlock and one sister, Thelma Kennedy. Funeral services for Glenda Bowen will be at Monday, June 6, 2011 at 3pm at Parke's Funeral Home in Twin Falls, ID. Burial will be in the Twin Falls Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1pm until services at 3pm Monday June 6, 2011. Glenda's favorite charity was the Boise Rescue Mission Ministries who do so much with so little.
