Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Road Twin Falls, Idaho 83301 (208) 735-0011 Tennie Mae Farmer, age 77 of Twin Falls, Idaho went to be with Heavenly Father on May 25, 2011, with her loving family at her side. Tennie was born May 6, 1934 in the family homestead cabin in Thatcher, Idaho to parents, Laretts Walter Nelson and Lula Violet Olsen. She was the 10th child born in the month of May, thus her name Tennie Mae. Tennie attended grade school in Blackfoot, ID and High School in Moreland, ID. She took a job waitressing in her sister's restaurant and met Owen Wendell Jacobson. They were married December 4, 1950. They settled in Bancroft and later in Grace, Idaho. Together they had four children. This marriage later ended in divorce. Tennie was very involved in community and church activities while living in Grace. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many capacities. She loved reading, sewing, quilting, was a member the local Snowmobile Club, enjoyed riding horses, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. She loved to swim and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She married Hugh Rodney Farmer and they settled in Kimberly, ID. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Tennie was a hard worker. She worked for the Paris Downtown in Twin Falls until it closed and then she went to work for J.C. Penney Co. She was very talented at putting outfits together and interior design. She could decorate anything. She had the best dressed kids and grandkids in town. Hugh and Tennie loved to travel and taking the Scenic Route was a favorite past-time. They were inseparable companions until Hugh's death. Surviving Tennie are her children, Terasa (Al) Nickels of Twin Falls, ID; Blake Jacobson of Grace, ID; Lloyd (Lori) Jacobson of Jerome, ID; Tonya(Steve) Ward of Almo, ID; one brother, Bryce Nelson of Burley, ID; and one sister, Opal Sherwood of Pocatello, ID. Also surviving are her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Thermo, Jay and Stanley Nelson, and four sisters, Gwen Nelson Perry, Syble Nelson Harris, Clella Nelson Steffenson and Margene Nelson Baldwin. Funeral Services for Tennie will be held Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 15th Ward 680 Hankins Rd N. Twin Falls, Idaho. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, ID and from 10:00-10:45 A.M. at the church. Interment will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the Thatcher Cemetery, Thatcher, Idaho where she will be laid to rest beside Hugh.
