Wilma Gene (Ivie) Gines, age 84, passed away May 8, 2011, while being cared for at her son's home, in Mapleton, Utah. Born February 12, 1927 in, North Bend, King, Washington. Growing up Gene lived in North Bend, Washington, Farmington, New Mexico, Twin Falls, Idaho, Hazelton, Idaho, Jerome, Idaho, Seattle, Washington, and back to Jerome, Idaho where Gene and Richard met, courted and fell in love. Gene and Richard were married on January 18th 1950 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Gene and Richard started their marriage working Richard's dairy in Jerome, but after selling the cows they found many opportunities for employment in Castleford, Idaho, Clearfield, Utah, Hazleton, Idaho, Hollister, Idaho and retirement in Twin Falls, Idaho. Along the way Gene made many wonderful friends, and brought happiness and service to people wherever she lived. Gene's greatest treasure came from her family. With the "patience of Job" Gene brought 10 children in this world. Hal, Barry, Carol, Nancy, Brent, Bruce, Mike, Kurt, Bryce and David. Gene, Richard and children spent many happy days together, camping, hiking, fishing, playing family baseball, (we had our own team), attending sporting events, and just spending family time together. Gene's love of Jesus Christ enabled a lifetime of service, not only to friends and family, but in many church callings and assignments. Gene is survived by her children: Hal (Ruth Ann) Gines, Barry (Nancy) Gines, Nancy (Dan) Paetzold, Brent (Caren) Gines, Bruce Gines, Mike (Laura) Gines, Kurt (Joy) Gines, Bryce (Kristi) Gines, and David (Cheryl) Gines. Gene is also survived by her sister Helen. Gene and Richard have 45 grand children and 58 great-grand children. Gene was preceded in death by husband Richard, daughter Carol, parents Wilford and Hazel Ivie, brothers Donald, Ralph, and Kenneth, sister Edith, grandson Joel Gines. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2011, at the 16th Ward LDS Church, 851 Harrison St. South (corner of Orchard and S. Harrison) in Twin Falls, with burial to follow at the Jerome Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 13, 2011 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road and one hour prior to service on Saturday.
