James Richard Carmichael

James (Jim) Richard Carmichael Sr, aka, Honey, Dad and Poppa. Born July 7, 1932 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Jim went home to His Lord and Savior on May 7, 2011. He passed away at St. Lukes Hospital, Magic Valley, in Twin Falls, Idaho as a result of a stroke. Jim is survived by his loving wife of thirty-nine years and eleven months, Johanna Anna Carmichael and his sons, Bob of CA, Brian of CA, Randy of CO, James Jr. of Boise, Mark of Kimberly, Joel of HI, Duane of Kimberly and Jason of NC, and their wives. Jim had 21 grandchildren, and 12 great-grand children. He was preceded in death by his son Jimmy Okarma, daughter-in-law Terry Okarma, and grandson Brandon Okarma. Jim enjoyed coin collecting and writing his interpretations of all Biblical scriptures. He loved to write! He taught a woman's Bible study at Valley Christian Church for many years. He mentored numerous boys thru Scouting in Kimberly. Over the years, and through several community agencies, Jim lent his compassion and experience to help those in need. His sense of humor and love for his family will be greatly missed. We will see you again, Honey, Dad, Poppa! Cremation will be at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, Twin Falls. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. The family asks that no flowers be sent.
