Steve R. Ordonez 1954-2011 Steve R. Ordonez, 56, of Filer, lost a courageous battle with cancer at his home, surrounded by family, on Monday April 25, 2011. Steve was born November 9, 1954 in Willcox, AZ. He attended High School in Salt Lake City, UT. He received a Masters degree in Geology from Northern Arizona University, and later received his teaching certificate from the University of Texas. Steve married the love of his life, Connie Alvey, on April 28, 1979 in Starr Valley, NV. Together, they raised three girls in Wyoming, Texas, and ldaho. Steve was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and educator. Originally working as a Geologist, he later dedicated himself to shaping young minds as a Science teacher at Midland High School in Texas and Buhl High School. He served as a coach for several school sports teams, and especially loved coaching his daughters' softball teams. Steve was lucky enough to coach all three daughters in high school and win a state tournament. In his free time, Steve loved camping, fishing, hiking, skiing, and spending time with his granddaughters and his dogs. Steve is survived by his wife, Connie; three daughters, Tiffany (Javier) Castillo of Buhl, ID, Stephanie (Zac) Colby of Nampa, ID, and Whitney (Jeremy) Connell of Filer, ID; Also surviving are his three siblings, Nicholas Ordonez, of Pinetop, AZ, Elaine (Danny) Cuoco of Phoenix, AZ, and Paul Ordonez, of Phoenix, AZ; and two grandchildren, Aryah and Ellisa. He is preceded in death by his father and a sister. Visitation for Steve will be held Saturday, April 30, 2011 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls with a Memorial service to follow at 4:00pm at the funeral home.
