Ellis E. Stettler 1922 - 2011 Ellis E. Stettler age 88 of Twin Falls, passed away April 9, 2011 at Wynwood Retirement Facility. Ellis was born on September 16, 1922 in Twin Falls, Idaho. He graduated from Twin Falls High School and played the clarinet and the saxophone in high school and was a member of a local Jazz band that played at dances and other events. Ellis was a freshman at the University of Idaho when World War II broke out. He joined the Army and entered active duty just before Christmas 1942. He was a Mortar Crewman in the 11th Division, 63rd Armed Infantry Battalion Central Europe. He was discharged in 1945 and returned to Twin Falls. Ellis married the love of his life, Juanita Poe on September 8, 1945. They remained in Twin Falls and had one son, Dennis. Ellis worked for Western Optical and Benson Optical as an Optician for 41 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling to the Sawtooth Mountains and listening to Jazz music. Surviving Ellis, is his wife Juanita of 64 years, his son Dennis (Beverly) of Edmonds, Washington. His grandson Greg of Oak Park, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Vivien Stettler and his brother, Norris. Friends may call Thursday, April 14, 2011 from 5-7 pm at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, Idaho. Funeral services for Ellis will be held Friday, April 15, 2011 at 10:00 am at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
